Another full house, another long line up for those that waited outside, another round for the demons that 'graced' this bar with there presence. And of course, another shift coming to an end for the half exhausted bartender. Not that he was excited about it. He had nothing to go home to. He had no home to go home to.
For the last few days and night Adrian had been working non-stop for the demons that walked in and out of the bar night and day. Of course daylight hours were much more subdued than the late night, usually a few people coming in for drinks or 'other' entertainment, usually involving some form of sex, drug, or violence. Adrian shook his head as he . wiped the counter top with a cloth. That's all these demons cared about.
there had been a time, a time long ago, when there had been something more to life than finding out where you were going to get your next high or fuck. There had been the task of caring for those around you that needed your help even if they didn't know it, and the joys of tending the world around you. And tending a family. Clutching the towel in his grasp, he twisted it, the clear liquid he had just soaked up spilling onto the floor again.
The thought of his family made their faces swirl to the surface of his memory. Meele had been a plain looking woman, her face covered in small dents from where her skull had been fractured by her boss. Framed by strawberry blonde curls, it wouldn't have stood out in a crowd, but still it was the most beautiful face Adrian had ever seen. It was still even beautiful went the life had left it. Then there was the face of his baby girl. The one that he had abandoned when he was no longer fit to take care of her. But her presence had haunted his mind like a poltergist until the day he saw her. The day the demons had taken over the world and turned his daughter into one of them.
Anger and hate was all that drove Adrian now. In some ways he was no better than the demon's he hated, but at least he had a purpose in mind. To try and get rid of as many demons as possible. He may not have been as effective as he had before, when he could have easily posioned all of the demon's drinks. Now it was slightly harder. If he could only get a hold on them. Adrian would smile and laugh as the energy that held them into this world was sucked away from them.
Coming back to reality, Adrian turned around to face the bar, watching someone walk up towards the counter top. Flipping the towel over his shoulder in the coustimary bartender style, Adrian put on a fake smile and leaned down on his elbow, eyeing the person infront of him. "What can I get you? Name your posion and I'll fix it up faster than you can blink. "
